My Story
I enjoy using digital art to capture day-to-day life within my vibrant Nigerian communities. It is the perfect connection between my technological skills and my creative artistic ability. This interest was initially sparked by a trip I took to Nigeria, my parents’ country of origin. The trip allowed me to connect to my heritage more deeply: for the first time I could see, feel, and touch the community, beyond what I heard from my parents’ stories. Through these digital impressions, I captured the hustle and bustle of Nigerian flea market scenes. My favorite pieces are those that capture scenes of people negotiating and bargaining the prices of produce in the flea market.
Over the years, I have developed a style that allows me to make the digital canvas erupt into an explosion of bright colors that showcase the breathtaking beauty of these marketplaces. I have gained inspiration from experienced artists, especially those whose style channels impressionism, and in the process, I have discovered a unique style of my own. Visually expressing these moments of everyday Nigerian life onto digital canvas fills me with creative satisfaction and fulfills my purpose to connect to my heritage and share it with others.
